GM blood treatment proves an effective cancer killer

Researchers from the UK have discovered a potent weapon against bowel cancer which uses genetically modified blood cells to identify and attack the disease.

Cancer drug gives hope to sickle cell sufferers

A drug that reduces the disabling pain of sickle cell anemia can also significantly lower death rates and should be used by many more patients with the blood disorder, researchers say.
