Sharp decline in UK deaths from bowel cancer predicted

A national screening programme of 10 years' duration will prevent 5000 new cases and 3000 deaths each year in the United Kingdom. Currently there are about 35000 diagnosed cases of bowel cancer and 16000 deaths each year in the United Kingdom.

Study: Treatment for cancer has preventive benefit

Using tamoxifen in hopes of preventing breast cancer would benefit more than 2.4 million women, the vast majority middle-aged and white, despite the drug's serious side effects.

The syndrome results from a chronic exposure to GH (Growth Hormone) leading to the classic clinical features that the diagnosis seems to be easy. High exposure to GH produces gigantism in youths prior to epiphyseal fusion and acromegaly in adults.
